Wilmington Housing Partnership has a number of projects that are either in the planning, construction and/or rehabiliation stages. Below is an overview of our current community projects.
Ever Green Terrace
WHP acquired these 6 parcels from the City of Wilmington. These homes were accidentally destroyed by Delmarva Power and the community is looking forward for this project to begin as it will represent the rebirth of a neighborhood. On this site, WHP will construct a "green" townhome community consisting of 4 individual units. We expect this project to achieve the silver LEED certification level.
Healdmont
Once a dilapidated community center, the City of Wilmington demolished the property and gave the parcels of land to WHP to develop 9 “green” townhomes. Phase I of this project began in September, and the first 5 units are scheduled to be complete in April. We expect this project to achieve the silver LEED certification level.
Christina Overlook
This project was the former site of Delaware Insulation situated on several tracts of land in Browntown. The City of Wilmington gave WHP several small lots and WHP purchased several properties. These homes are located next to the Riverfront and potential buyers will like the convenience of the distinct amenities the Riverfront has to offer. This 33 townhome development is currently underway.
Brownstones at Christina Overlook
Once an abandoned community center, the Brownstown’s are a 7 unit, high quality, energy efficient, affordable housing project for home ownership.
VFW
With funding from the National Stabilization Program (NSP) from the City of Wilmington, WHP was able to purchase the abandoned VFW located at 1300 Brown Street in the Browntown section of Wilmington. Within the next several months, WHP will put this property out to bid and eventually plan to construct up to 18 affordable townhomes on this site.
Renovated Homes
In addition to new construction projects, Wilmington Housing Partnership is involved in rehabilitating many homes. Below are a few rehabed homes that are crutical in rebuilding the communities.
